Who are we?
The ALPA a.s.b.l. exists for 39 years in Luxembourg and works exclusively with volunteers. The association does not only stand up for animal welfare, but also for the rights of domestic and wild animals.
Find out who we are and what we do
Thanks to donations and private estates, ALPA a.s.b.l. is able to pursue and to realize the objectives it set at its foundation:
* To act for the welfare of animals (castration of stray cats, inspections, prosecution of cases of animal abuse, financial support for the benefit of animals in need, cooperation with animal shelters, veterinary services and customs officials)
* To sensitize the public about the rights of animals (for example, through lectures in schools)
* To perform various actions to defend and to ensure the rights of animals (vigil against hunting, protest against bullfighting and vivisection).
The awareness of the suffering of animals is very important to us. To this end, we offer conferences in schools or lectures to explain the relationship between animal welfare and the impact on the ecological footprint. We attach importance to emphasis on personal responsibility in daily contact with animals and the effects of our actions. In the interest of the common good, we place particular emphasis on a more conscious and responsible lifestyle because we believe that competent and responsible citizens will speak up spontaneously for the welfare of animals.
The ALPA a.s.b.l. uses its financial resources (these are primarily from the sale of membership cards and donations) in priority for the immediate help for animals in need.
